NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association, MC for NSW anti-racism collaborative conference 2025
You held the discussion with such professionalism. Jess and Michael’s amazing responses all started with a thoughtful and perfectly delivered question. Your contributions really elevated the evening and helped the audience connect deeply with the conversation. Really grateful for your time and efforts in maximising last night’s impact as we work towards solutions around gender-based violence.
Tom Chapman, Event Producer, Division of Societal Impact, Equity & Engagement, Gender violence keynote headline event, Diversity Festival UNSW 2025
Sarah did an outstanding job during the in-conversation. She was very natural in her questioning, striking the perfect balance between casual and professional. Her rapport with both the author and the audience was excellent. She asked insightful, book-specific questions that were articulate and far from general. A truly engaging and thoughtful interviewer!
Meabh, Better Read Than Dead events team, book event
Sarah Malik spoke so beautifully on topics so close to the hearts of many in our UTS community. She has an exquisite way with words and her storytelling is a true gift. There was a real joyous buzz and renewed sense of inspiration after she delivered her keynote and spoke at our Q&A panel. We received such positive feedback on the event and would recommend Sarah as a fantastic speaker at future events.

We engaged Sarah as the host for our recent International Women’s Day public event. As we hoped, she was professional and had really done her research when it came to interviewing our guest. But Sarah brought much more to the event – she was warm, insightful and knew how to traverse serious matters alongside when to deftly bring humour to the discussion. Sarah knows her stuff and we will be looking for other opportunities to work with her again.

Memoir workshop testimonials
Her thoughts on personal essays have given me a whole new way of thinking about my project. I’ve really struggled with the ‘enormity’ of it. And, the subsequent feelings of being overwhelmed has left it sitting on the back burner, slowly stewing! Short, sharp stories with different, distinct themes/aspects appeals to the way my science brain operates. So, thank you Sarah!

Sarah’s workshop on memoir writing was very detailed and provided important guidance on approaching writing from different perspectives. It was a wholesome workshop where she gave us a chance to practice expressing ourselves and break out into discussions. I only wished the workshop lasted longer for more time with the amazing author!
Nusrat Jahan, Singapore Writers’ Festival memoir writing workshop 2024
Sarah was insightful and inclusive with participants and created a safe atmosphere for people to be revealing about their memoirs. I would have loved this workshop to go for two days or at least one! It gave me ideas and I loved the chance to do some writing. It was interesting to hear the memoir ideas from other people and to connect with them, even if very briefly.
2022 Melbourne Writers’ Festival – Memoir Workshop
I enjoyed the memoir writing workshop opportunity. It made me think very differently about why and what I’m writing. In addition to what I learned, I now have a clear path on next steps. Sarah taught me a lot about being more creative. Her session truly opened my mind. She’s clear in message, and compassionate in approach.
